I’ve always loved the idea of traveling the world. While I didn’t get a passport until I was 19, I’d spent my entire life immersing myself in books and reading about the history and politics of different places. This lead to an M.A. in European Studies, and a lot of student debt. Most of my trips abroad so far have been academic opportunities or family excursions largely planned and paid for by others. Time spent traveling to other countries was absolutely as fulfilling as I always imagined, and I spent my early twenties taking every opportunity I could to live in other places. Budgeting for and planning leisure vacations is relatively new to me, and I hope to document my learning experiences here. I currently live in the greater D.C. area, where my hobbies include reading, dancing around my apartment to pop music instead of cleaning, watching Yankee games, ardently defending the oxford comma, and accidentally getting drunk on wine on Tuesdays.
